- PESHGEERThe vernacular term for skirt or petticoat in Northern India. Made of cotton cambric, woven and printed locally. The yarns are English. The Sind district especially was noted for this cloth. Usual width 32-in. and in 5 yard lengths. The ground was crimson with black and white spots. Worn by the poorer classes.
